Dr. Susan Zannoni is a Doctor of Nursing prepared Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Zannoni is also a Certified Addiction Advanced Practice clinician who works with adolescents and adults with addiction and may need medication assistant treatment (MAT) such as Vivitrol and Suboxone and/or other medications to help with cravings. She has worked closely with adolescents with dual diagnosis of mental health and with substance use disorder.
Dr. Zannoni has significant experience working with youths and families in crisis situations. She has a practice background working at Oishei Children’s Hospital as a RN in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and trained nurses and social workers the importance of identifying Acute Stress Disorder in a hospital setting.
Dr. Zannoni's work experience includes the Clinical Director of Children Services for a large non for profit organization and has a wealth of experience working with youths and families. She taught at University of Buffalo as an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing for several years. She had received a grant to implement a specific trauma intervention called NET (Narrative Exposure Therapy) to children and adolescents at a local drug and rehabilitation inpatient facility.
Dr. Zannoni offers both face to face appointments or online teletherapy appointments for established patients with qualifying insurance. Dr. Zannoni can use a web-based platform to deliver real time, face-to-face therapy for patients that may be unable to attend office sessions. In order to be eligible for these certain services, patients must complete an in-person intake appointment and Dr. Zannoni will determine if teletherapy is appropriate for the presenting concerns.
